It’s no secret that the Tester Round Up is one of our favourite parts of a new pattern release! As we were developing Matilda Curve, we were hanging out so see what our gorgeous testers were going to whip up so we could get to this point…the Matilda Curve Tester Round Up! And as usual…we weren’t disappointed! We had one tester make more than one dress, which is always so wonderful to see! These makes are all so different, it’s so incredible to see how the pattern looks depending on what fabric is chosen. We even noticed a tester after our own heart by making a gorgeous gingham dress (hello Hope!).
If you’d like to take a look at the Tester Round Up from the original Matilda release, be sure to check out the post here. Thanks so much to all of our testers for being so generous with their time, we’re so thrilled to show you some of their makes! Let’s take a look!

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
The fit of the top, it would be great for work or casual wear depending on the fabric choice.
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I plan to make the same top with a gathered skirt in a viscose fabric to take advantage of the drape.

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
I love that although the pattern features a lot of construction, it still maintains an overall femininity. It can easily be dressed down with a pair of trainers or dressed up with wedges for a night out.
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
My current dress is View A in a pretty thick quilter’s cotton which gave the dress a very tailored look. I loved playing with the small details of cutting pieces on the bias as well as lining in a contrasting fabric. I plan on making another View A in a linen/viscose blend in the near future. I’m rather excited to see how the dress wears in a floaty fabric.

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
I love the princess seams on the Matilda Curve – they made adjustments in that area super easy. The pattern is both smart and feminine, which can be hard to achieve, and I love the additional details like the box pleat on the breast pockets.
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I made my first Matilda Curve in a blush pink rayon from Atelier Brunette. I think a denim version would be amazing, so would love to make that in the future – maybe with a different shade of denim for the waistband and chest pockets as a cool design detail!

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
My absolute favorite thing about this pattern is the fit of the bodice and waistband. I don’t have even a hint of gape across the bodice at the button placket and the waistband sits absolutely flat around my curvy waist! Finally! This is likely to become my new bodice block. I couldn’t ask for better.
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I have made a number of shirtdresses, even those specifically drafted for curves. I haven’t ever made one with these results right out of the packet. I usually have to make two or even three toiles to get this kind of fit. The only “alteration” I had to make was grading between sizes, which I often have to do on any pattern. This dress is perfect for work or Sunday brunch. I can’t wait to make another in a silk noil for date night! Another cracking pattern from Meg that will easily become a workhorse in my wardrobe.

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
I love the shape of the skirt. It has such a beautiful drape and the perfect amount of swish! I’m also a sucker for the sleeve bands. Mega cute :)
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I’d like to make a matching set next. Lengthen the top into a shirt, lengthen the skirt to a maxi and a little matching crop top. A whole capsule wardrobe for all those holidays I’m not taking at the moment!

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
It’s a brilliant fit for for a full bust and curvier body and I just love the mix of feminine style with the slightly military-influenced detail.
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I have a lovely big piece of magenta linen that I’d like to make the sleeved version with. I’d quite like to make a little fabric-covered belt to go with it too!

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
My favourite thing about the pattern was the fit of the bodice. The fitted bodice and sleeve bands are fun take on a shirt dress for summer and make for a lovely a-line silhouette that I personally gravitate towards.
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
This cotton is actually handed down from my grandma and I thought it would make a fun take on this pattern. I also plan to make a solid colour version, maybe in a linen, for a more everyday version of this dress.
