The Wattle tester round was truly one of our favourites, we had so many beautiful makes come through in all variations. The versatility of the pattern is really shown by how different everyone’s skirts turned out! Our wonderful testers have agreed to let us share their makes with you and I have no doubt you’ll love their Wattle skirts as much as we do.
I really do appreciate the time and effort all of our testers put into the process for us. It’s such a valuable part of what we do and without you we couldn’t keep creating such high quality patterns…so as usual, I’m sending you the biggest of hugs!
Enjoy browsing these gorgeous makes, I hope you love it as much as I did. Don’t forget to check out these ladies blogs and Instagram’s for more of their sewing journeys.

I love the big pockets and interesting waistband closure. This is a great pattern for a beginner that wants a fun, stylish skirt but may be afraid to install a zipper.

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
This is a dream pattern for me with so many views to try and possible variations! I love the pockets and the bow! They sophisticate an otherwise simple gathered skirt and are beautiful details. I also love the size of the pockets! I wore mine to church today and came home with a toy car, a bag of fruit snacks, breath mints and a pencil all in one pocket!

I loved the closure on the skirt (no zip in sight, yay!) and the bias cut. Also, you know, pockets, who doesn’t like pockets?

I love the length, the bias cut design (which is great to play with patterns) and it’s the perfect skirt for fall! It’s one of my favorite me-mades so far!

I love how versatile it the Wattle pattern is with its four versions! I’m a big fan of fit and flare silhouette but I’m always reluctant on making flared or circle skirts due to the amount of fabric it required. The Wattle pattern makes it really affordable! 1.5m of fabric, 2 buttons, thread and that’s it!

I will be trying all of them! The bias cut would look awesome in stripes. Super easy sew and so versatile! Vintage, summery, casual, formal, so many options with one pattern.

WHAT SHE SAID ABOUT THE PATTERN
I would consider myself a beginner seamstress and this pattern was clear and easy to follow! I was worried about the pockets and waistband but the instructions were so clear that it all went very smoothly! The pockets and high waist are perfect!

I have a skirt I’ve loved though the ages that is a similar cut, a brown tiny herringbone on the bias. I’d like to remake that in this pattern.

The shape of the skirt when finished. I used a stretch cotton sateen which gives the view B version a great shape. Also that it just felt like a well drafted pattern and came together really well when sewing. Everything matched up nicely.

I love when it all makes sense and the instructions were very clear. I hadn’t done pockets like this before and I can’t put all that together in my head, but I just followed the steps given and it came together beautifully. That really says a lot.
