Hands up who’s excited to see our incredible Protea Curve Tester makes?! We were so thrilled to see so many of our testers make not one but two (and sometimes three) Protea makes during this test round. The pattern is designed to be one you make over and over again, mixing and matching elements to create your own look! Check out our Curve tester makes below, I know you will love them as much as we do!
Thanks again to all of our beautiful testers, we couldn’t have released the pattern without you!

WHO
Elizabeth @thatssewelizabeth has made View C Dress with square neckline, flutter sleeves, tiered gathered skirt & drawstring.
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
My favourite thing about the Protea Pattern is the endless possibilities of things you can make. You can mix and match the sleeves and neck options, and the pattern is super hackable! This really is my new go-to pattern. The fit is on point and there is so much you can do with it!

WHO
Pam @josephinesews has made View C Dress with square neckline, flutter sleeves, tiered gathered skirt & drawstring.
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
The favourite thing for me was the square neckline – I love how it lays flat against my body.

WHO
Claudia @claudia.sewtastic has made View B Woven tee with square neckline & fitted sleeves.
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
This is a very exciting pattern, the capsule concept is very appealing and I plan to make a variety of variations and use different fabrics too!

WHO
Sandra @stylish_seams has made View C Dress with square neckline, flutter sleeves, tiered gathered skirt & drawstring.
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
The style is perfect for a summer dress and I love the neck and sleeve variations. This is a quick satisfying sew!

WHO
Sarah @sarahmaemakes has made View C Dress with square neckline, tiered gathered skirt & drawstring without sleeves!
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
For my tester version (View C) I eliminated the sleeves and made the bottom tier half the length so it is more of a ruffle. This was entirely because I only had a max of 3-yard cuts in my stash. I cannot wait to order some lovely cotton and rayon to make more versions of this dress. I am also thinking about doing some print mixing for a version.
The variety of views makes for creating a fun capsule with even more possibilities with some basic pattern hacking.

WHO
Amanda has made View C Dress without the drawstring
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
I love how flexible this pattern is. I made view C but took out the drawstring waistband. I have plans for a shirt and skirt. I feel like I could literally make a capsule wardrobe all from variations available in this pattern!

WHO
Christina @c.pikas has made View A Dress with round neckline, gathered skirt & fitted sleeves, View C Dress with square neckline, flutter sleeves, tiered gathered skirt & drawstring & View B!
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
I love the square neck options and how there are so many choices to mix and match and fill a wardrobe. I plan to make some skirts and also a square neck, ruffle sleeve dress. I want to see what happens if I add elastic at the bottom of the flutter sleeve for a puffy sleeve.

WHO
Lisa @little_sewing_van has made View A Dress with square neckline.
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
I love the square neckline, I’ve been wanting to do one for ages and this came at the perfect time. Really easy to do and very flattering.

WHO
Emma @sewdoitemma View C Dress with square neckline, flutter sleeves, tiered gathered skirt & drawstring.
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
When I see a dress with ruffles, the inner me squeals with delight and then add to that the square neckline which seems to be all over the place, It’s a dress that can’t be pushed to the side!

WHO
Christina @chrichrimano has made View E Tiered gathered skirt with elastic waistband & drawstring.
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
Lovely, quick and easy pattern for a skirt with a little something something. Can see myself sewing several versions in different materials. I definitely want to try sewing a version in a slinky rayon. Think it would make a great evening skirt. And a lightweight linen version for summer.

WHO
Chloe @chlo_thing has made View D Woven tee with round neckline & flutter sleeves
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
I really like the options on this pattern. A woven tee/top is a really versatile pattern for work or casual wardrobe, and with the extra sleeve and neckline options, this will make several very different tops. I also think the ease is spot on – it’s not highly fitted but isn’t at all oversized.

WHO
Amanda @mandabe4r has made View D Square neck woven tee with flutter sleeves.
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
I really love how many different options there are with this pattern! Having so many variations is always a winner in my book. The flutter sleeves on my version feel like such a fun detail to a fairly basic top.

WHO
Jackie @sewjackiesue has made View B Woven tee with square neckline & fitted sleeves.
WHAT DOES SHE THINK OF THE PATTERN?
My favourite thing was that there were so many options and combinations. You could make a vacation wardrobe just from this pattern.
