Eucalypt Maker Round-Up

Eucalypt dress and top pattern maker round up

We’re so excited to bring you a post full of Eucalypt inspiration today, from some of our favourite makers. With its basic structure, the pattern is not only a wonderful staple to have in your collection it’s also the perfect dress & top to play around with to make your own.  As Eucalypt is a re-release of a much loved older pattern, the Tester Round Up was some years ago. We didn’t want to miss out on all the ideas and clever hacks…so here is our Eucalypt maker round-up instead for a little inspiration!

WHO // Brittani from @untitledthoughts. Be sure to check out her review on her blog!

WHAT SHE MADE // View A Eucalypt tank

WHY WE LOVE IT // Brittani’s Eucalypt tank is the perfect lightweight summer top that would go with jeans, shorts, or skirts, worn day after day and still look wonderfully put together. Her review very kindly mentioned it was also an easy sew…which makes us smile because it’s exactly what it should be!

Meg Fleshman Eucalypt 1 Meg Fleshman Eucalypt Dress Meg Fleshman Eucalypt DressWHO // Meg from @megmadesewing. Be sure to check out her review on her blog!

WHAT SHE MADE // View C Eucalypt dress with Darling Ranges sleeve addition & a gorgeous Peter Pan collar!

WHY WE LOVE IT // You guys, it’s not possible not to absolutely love this dress. You wouldn’t even know it’s a Eucalypt other than small subtle features that we can spot. Loving how she’s added the small sleeves for the extra coverage, and the Peter Pan collar is the perfect final touch. And can we take a second to fall in love with this fabric?! It’s the blue version of the Rifle Paper Co fabric Brittani used above!

Mel Crossgrain Eucalypt Standard and CurveMel Crossgrain Eucalypt StandardMel Crossgrain Eucalypt CurveWHO // Mel from @crossgrainfabrics

WHAT SHE MADE // View B Eucalypt tank in standard sizing & View A Eucalypt tank in curve sizing

WHY WE LOVE IT // The lovely Mel from Crossgrain Fabrics has made the ultimate summer must-have…a white linen tank with the freshest of linen from her own store! We especially love the fact that she’s made matching Eucalypts; one for herself with the centre front seam (View B of the Standard pattern) and one for her gorgeous Mum using View A of the Curve pattern!

Rebekah Eucalypt Dress 1 Rebekah Eucalypt Tank Rebekah Eucalypt DressWHO // Rebekah from @freshseams

WHAT SHE MADE // View C Eucalypt dress & View A Eucalypt tank

WHY WE LOVE IT // Rebekah had mentioned she was going on vacation just around the time of her receiving the patterns, which of course was perfect timing! We’re loving her Eucalypt cover-up in rayon crinkle fabric…although she has said the fabric was not the most fun to sew with. If it’s any consolation…we think it looks beautiful!

Mary Eucalypt Tank Mary Eucalypt Tank Mary Eucalypt TankWHO // Mary from @sablecraft. You can find her Eucalypt review on her blog Sable Craft.

WHAT SHE MADE // View A Eucalypt tank

WHY WE LOVE IT // Mary’s pretty much nailed exactly how all of us here in the office wear our Eucalypt tops…with jeans and flats, so simple, so chic! Not to mention the gorgeousness of her Nani Iro fabric. LOVE!

WHO // Teri from @teridodds1. Be sure to check out her review on her blog Fa Sew La

WHAT SHE MADE // View A Eucalypt tank with a peplum!

WHY WE LOVE IT // The peplum on this Eucalypt is just the perfect hack that we had never thought of adding! Genius! It adds such a sweet detailing to the top and allows for a more blousy look than the original tank.

WHO // Heidi from @heidi_handmadefrenzy. Be sure to look at her blog review on Handmade Frenzy.

WHAT SHE MADE // View A Eucalypt tank in a knit fabric

WHY WE LOVE IT // Heidi has such laid-back, effortless style, we’re loving that she’s paired her knit Eucalypt with all the perfect summer basics! It’s a good reminder that although the pattern is designed for woven fabrics, you can absolutely make the ideal summer basic tank in a knit fabric if you choose!

Holly Eucalypt gathered dressHolly Eucalypt Knit tankWHO // Holly from @hollydollydarling

WHAT SHE MADE // View C Eucalypt dress with gathered skirt & View A Eucalypt tank in a knit fabric!

WHY WE LOVE IT // Holly will be taking everyone through how she created this GORGEOUS pink Eucalypt dress in a blog post later this week so be sure to keep your eyes out for that. We’re also so in love with her knit Eucalypt tank, such a gorgeous basic that will go with pretty much any bottom in your closet!
