Muse: Eat Sleep Wear

The thing that I love about the internet, is the amazing access we have to great sources of inspiration. For me, the world of blogging has introduced me to so many women that I can now think of as muses when coming up with my designs.

One of these girls is the ever sweet and positive, queen of encouraging words, Kim of Eat.Sleep.Wear.

A few weeks ago I was really struck by the lace crop top she wore in this post. I could not stop thinking about that darn crop top!! What did the rest of it look like?! I just loved it! So I decided to make my own interpretation. This is it. And yes if you’re wondering, I will put a peter pan collar on anything. ANYTHING. I also may have been (ok totally was) a little inspired by her styling when putting this look together – Something about it just feels a little Kim! (maybe it’s the socks?) – though the hair is inspired by the beehive master Veronika– unfortunately it did fall a little flat by the time Chris took these photos, but I think it’s a pretty good first attempt?

So what do you think? I can’t wait to try this little top out in more ways – it seems to go with everything!

Top: Megan Nielsen
Skirt: Megan Nielsen, Olivia skirt SS2010
Cami: Cue
Stockings: Cats from Woolworths
Socks: Target
Shoes: Gift from my mom, bought in a Hong Kong market

ps. thank you all so much for the feedback on my longer skirt! I was feeling rather nervous about it, but now I think I will have to get into making more longer skirts!!

This is awesome- your blog makes me wish that I had (and knew how to use well) a sewing machine so much.
