Let’s finish the Reef Camisole today! All that’s left is to sew the camisole hem! I’ll show you how to sew a narrow rolled hem without any special machine feet or a serger, but of course, you may use alternative methods if desired. So let’s get hemming!
First, we will sew a line of stitching 1/4” (6mm) from the raw edge (this may be a basting stitch).
Fold the hem inwards towards the wrong side of the fabric along the line of stitching.
Next, stitch a scant 1/8” (3mm) from the folded edge. Trim the seam allowance as close to the stitching as you can.
Fold up the hem once more enclosing the raw edge. It should end up being around 1/8” (3mm). Press and then sew close to the folded edge.
And that’s it! You’ve completed the Reef camisole! If you have any questions on sewing the camisole, be sure to leave a comment below! In our next post, we’ll start on the Reef shorts!
