We’ve loved showing you the gorgeous Olive & Opal makes from some of our favourite makers these past few weeks. The time following a release is always so exciting as we slowly see all of you get into your patterns! We had so many incredible makes we wanted to share that we’ve got a second maker email to share with you!
Take a look at these beautiful makes, and be sure to tag #MNopal or #MNolive and @megannielsenpatterns on Instagram when you post your own! We’d love to see and share your makes!
WHO // Pauline from @sewuthinkucan. Be sure to check out her review on her blog, Sew You Think You Can Knock Off!
WHAT SHE MADE // View C Olive blouse and View C Opal shorts!
WHY WE LOVE IT // What’s not to love about this beautiful top with ruffles and puffy sleeves! The best part is that it’s been repurposed from two yellow gingham vintage dresses!
WHO // Star from @wellfibre.
WHAT SHE MADE // View C Opal shorts.
WHY WE LOVE IT // We love how the simple patch pocket adds a little element of difference to a wonderful basic short!
WHO // Sylvia from @theravelout. You can also check out her review of the Olive pattern on her blog The Ravel Out.
WHAT SHE MADE // View B Olive dress with a super cute tiered skirt and side ties.
WHY WE LOVE IT // The colour! The frill! Sylvia’s smile! It’s such a beautiful take on the Olive dress! Be sure to take a look at her website for a little explanation on how to create her waist ties to help cinch in the waist!
WHO // Gyasti from @gyasti.
WHAT SHE MADE // View C Opal shorts.
WHY WE LOVE IT // Look at the pattern matching on Gyasti’s shorts! I love the full length extended pockets too, so amazing!
WHO // Tino from @sewstartino. Check out her review on the pattern on her blog Sew Star Tino!
WHAT SHE MADE // View A Opal pants.
WHY WE LOVE IT // Tino’s described these pants as ‘sparkly’, I’d say they are downright amazing! Opal is such a great casual pant, but I think Tino’s showed just how great they can be in dressy fabrics too!
WHO // Carole from @carolerankin.
WHAT SHE MADE // View B Olive dress.
WHY WE LOVE IT // It’s so light and breezy, this Olive dress has got me wishing for Summer days. Such a great use of alternating stripes too!
WHO // Faith from @faithstjules.
WHAT SHE MADE // View B Olive dress.
WHY WE LOVE IT // Oh Faith, your makes are always incredible, but these pants are the stuff of dreams! The Opal wide leg (View B) with the paper bag waist of View A is such a good way to mix and match the pattern views!
WHO // Holly from @hollydollydarling
WHAT SHE MADE // View B Olive dress with ties.
WHY WE LOVE IT // We’ve shown you Holly’s dress with ties a few times just because it’s so beautiful!! It’s such a beautiful hack, we wanted to share it again.
WHO // Danica from @danicadoesit. You can also check out her review of the Olive pattern on her blog Danica Does It.
WHAT SHE MADE // View A Olive blouse.
WHY WE LOVE IT // Danica’s Olive top has to be one of my favourites, it’s just so pretty! Plus look at that pattern matching! It’s gorgeous!
