The versatile reversible dress & top
I’ve been working on updating Sudley for some time now, and I’m so thrilled to re-release it not only with a new variation but including Sudley extended sizes 0-30!! Sudley is a reversible pattern with an endless combination of elements. We had so much fun sewing up the new Sudley samples in some of our favourite fabrics…trust me I’ve earmarked a few for my own wardrobe!
I’ll go through the changes to the pattern as well as tell you a little bit about each variation after the jump!
View A is a blouse with above elbow sleeves and a Peter Pan collar
With an oversized peter pan collar and lovely long ties, this blouse variation is all sweetness! As with all views of Sudley you can wear the keyhole at the front or the back. My personal preference is to wear View A with the collar at the back!
This variation remains the same as the original release.

View B is a cropped blouse with short sleeves
This is my favourite variation for summer! View B is a cropped blouse with short sleeves, and I would definitely classify it as a long crop. The hem lands around the hip bone to make it easier to wear it untucked. As with all variations of Sudley this view can be worn with the keyhole at the back or the front. Personally, I really enjoy wearing this variation with the ties undone and the keyhole hanging open a little bit. It’s so summery and fun!
This variation remains the same as the original release.

View C is a dress with gathered skirt, lining & long sleeves
This romantic dress includes a gathered skirt, full lining and long sleeves with elastic cuffs. This version has been updated from the original release which included 3/4 length sleeves. The pattern still includes cut lines for 3/4 sleeves, but the sleeve pattern piece has been extended to allow for the addition of this lovely long sleeve. As with all versions of Sudley you can wear the keyhole at the front or the back, and can also wear it loose and untied.

View D is a long sleeve blouse
Adding to the length of our sleeve pattern piece allowed us to add this new variation to Sudley for a fabulous long-sleeved blouse! This brand new variation that has been added to Sudley has quickly become my favourite winter blouse. It can also be worn with the keyhole in the back or front and is perfectly suited to a range of different fabrics.
BONUS variatons!
One of the things I have always loved doing with my patterns is adding extra options for you, and Sudley is probably the queen of extra options. I’ve made sure to include multiple cut lines for all pattern pieces to allow you to mix and match and hack this pattern to your heart’s content. There are four sleeve lengths – short, elbow length, 3/4 and long – and you can also leave the sleeves off for a sleeveless dress or top. There are three dress variations – the featured high waist, a low waist dress and even a drop waist dress. The collar can be added to any variation and you can choose whether to use included ties for the keyhole or a subtle hook and eye. I’m sure there are even more options I haven’t thought of yet and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

All the sizes!
As part of the re-release of Sudley, we’re so happy to offer it in our full extended size range! Sizes 0-20 are available in printed and PDF format and Curve sizes 14-30 are available in PDF format! If you’d like more info on our sizing you can check out our size chart here.
