It’s our favourite time again…our Dawn tester round-up! Our beautiful Dawn testers have agreed to let us share their makes with you and I’m certain you will love the many variations they have made of the Dawn jeans.
I really do appreciate the time and effort all of our Dawn testers have put into the process for us. It’s such a valuable part of what we do and without you, we couldn’t keep creating such high-quality patterns without our testers…so as usual, I’m sending you the biggest of hugs!
Enjoy browsing these gorgeous makes, I hope you love them as much as I did. Don’t forget to check out the maker’s blogs and Instagram accounts for more of their sewing journeys.

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
The options! I’ve only sewn one sew far, but I think it’s extremely generous to add three different fly options in a pant pattern. Also, I think this pattern fills a hole in the market for stable fitted jeans.

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
Maybe the comfortable high rise…or the vintage but modern feel…or the fact that there are so many options in just one pattern…or maybe just that they make my butt look amazing :D

WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I’m planning some more in twill with matching topstitching so they’ll be secret jeans I can wear to work – and I ‘may’ have more denim on the way to make another pair already.

The fit came together very quickly. I really like how the thread to use was highlighted each time. Highish waist and curved waistband. Sorry, that´s 4. The top was the waistband, really hugs the waist.

I liked how the pattern was laid out; each leg shape is a separate pattern piece, there are a lot of options for the fly, and the directions are clear and easy to follow.

WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I’ll probably use some dye-remover on the current pair to fade them a bit. I’d like to make a future pair with a slightly lower rise and very light-coloured denim.

The button fly! It was my first time doing it and I love it. It is also great that there are so many options for the fly and for the length and width.

I love the fit, I was a little bit nervous because it was the first jean I made, but it looks amazing!

WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I’d like to make a pair of shorts next. I will probably lower the rise and add a little more room to the seat. In the pair I already made, I made the slim version slimmer.

The pattern is easy and comes together nicely. The size of the pockets is great too.

I love the zipper fly instructions. They were very clear and the best I’ve read so far. As a curvier lady, I often work with fabrics that have a least a little stretch in them, so I was excited to work with completely rigid fabrics. This pattern is well-drafted for that and I look forward to making more!

The clarity of instructions for the fly, all the options available for this area and the views. So many options. The tall inseam is genius as it saved me from adding length for my 5ft 8 frame.

The relaxed style and fit. I loved the chart on page 9 with the machine settings for the various stitches. I kept referring back to that through the process.

The topstitching! Although it was the most challenging part, I really enjoyed the professional look it gave! And the pockets were fun to do!
