Thank you so much for the amazing response to the Flint pants and shorts sewing pattern! I’m so thrilled to know that you all love the new patterns as much as I loved making them for you! I’m so happy to be able to share with you our Flint pattern tester round up!
Without our amazing testers who give up their time to help us perfect our patterns and give us super valuable feedback, we wouldn’t be able to continue producing amazing high-quality patterns – so a big huge massive thank you and shout out to our amazing testers! A few of our testers have been kind enough to let us share their makes with you, and I really hope you enjoy checking out what these ladies have created, as well as their blogs and IG etc.
Please note that a few changes were made to the pattern after testing, so the tester makes may look a little different than the final pattern.

MADE
Version 1, pants with button closures.
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
I love how the clever pocket opening means you don’t have to install a zipper!

MADE
Version 3, shorts with button closures (and an added turned-up hem!!)
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
The comfortableness of the pant while still looking chic.
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I would like to make the cropped pant or a full-length pant out of linen for next summer. A black Tencel woven would make a nice dress pant as well.

Version 3, shorts with button closures
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
The shifted opening – great idea, I have never seen anything like this!
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
Perhaps a long version for winter in a nice wool suiting? Or a retro sailor version for my eldest daughter.

Version 1, cropped pants with button closures.
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
The pocket/waist fastening, I have never seen this method before & really like it!
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
Red denim shorts & a longer pair in knit fabric for ‘secret sewing pyjamas ‘!

Version 4, shorts with tie closures.
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
I loved the ties at the waist. It gives the look a vintage feel and makes them a little more unusual. I always love a pocket too!
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I want to make the trousers next and take them with me on my honeymoon next year! Maybe in a slightly nautical – feel fabric.

Version 3, shorts with button closures.
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
The illustrations are simple and uncluttered, and the finished product fits beautifully!
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I would really love to make these in pants length as they are so comfy!

MADE
Version 1, cropped pants with button closures and Version 2, cropped pants with tie closures.
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
I love the tall model, very comfortable all day. I see very well that pants to work, with a slightly loose blouse, tucked into the waist, feminine and confident.
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I sewed the node version for my canvas (curtain fabric) and I see very well for summer pants or shorts. I sewed buttonholes in the version with a lightweight ribbed velvet and soft, where I am very comfortable, even on a stressful day at work. The hem of the cropped version is very well thought out, I do not take my feet in my pants (and I’ve raced behind my children to the park with my Flint pant !).
The pattern has many variations: I would let myself try out a double opening of the version to buttonhole for the nautical look.

MADE
Version 1, cropped pants with button closures.
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
I love how these fit my waist and rear, more flattering than I imagined they might be and they will be great for work, comfortable and on-trend! I also love the incorporated pocket closure, so clever and helps me totally avoid zipper insertion, yay! It is so cute and picking out the buttons is fun too. I was unsure about the volume of the culottes but it works!!
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
I would love to make a rayon challis pair and another in drapey suiting.

MADE
Version 2, cropped pants with tie closures
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
The fit! This was my first pattern test and first time using an indie pattern and I loved it, the pattern was easy to follow with clear instructions and the final garment fitted perfectly, I can’t wait to start making my next pair of trousers.
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
Yes, I want to make some in a more luxurious fabric to wear when going out to parties over the Xmas season.

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
Easy waist closure, no zipper!
WHAT SHE IS PLANNING ON MAKING NEXT
Cut them longer than the pattern. Will likely be making another pair, with a grey wool blend, and slimmer leg.

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
I love it. The side fastening is great and much easier than inserting a zip!
