Are you guys ready to see the Harper‘s that the pattern testers made?! As per usual some of our lovely testers have been kind enough to let us share a few snaps of their test Harper’s. I’m so grateful to all of our testers, because they help us pick up on and fix potential issues before the pattern goes to print, and without them I know we couldn’t keep releasing such high quality patterns. Thanks gals, sending big hugs to all of you!
Meanwhile, I love seeing the variety of different garments everyone has made! I hope you enjoy checking them out – and don’t forget to pop on over to their blogs or IG for more sewing awesomeness.

Version 1 Shorts + Added her own patch pockets!
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
I love the big pockets on the front. I love pockets! Also, I like that the shorts are so simple that you can add lots of embellishments. I added some contrasting top-stitching to the pockets and hemline. I wanted to add more, but I restrained myself, ha!
WHAT SHE’S GOING TO MAKE NEXT
I would LOVE to make the skort Version 2 out of some black faux snakeskin fabric I have! It would be super hot for a night out! I will probably also make a herringbone version of the shorts to wear with tights in cooler weather. I also love the idea of an exposed zipper in a bright color. Also, maybe even an unlined distressed denim version of the shorts too…. Ahhhhhh so many ideas, so little time!

The pockets!
WHAT SHE’S GOING TO MAKE NEXT
I know the instructions call for mid weight fabrics, but I would like to try a lightweight fabric. Possibly add a buttonhole on each pocket to fasten it closed.

Version 1 Shorts with ric rac hemline
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
I love the full lining, the booty room, and the subtle vintage vibe.
WHAT SHE’S GOING TO MAKE NEXT
I made a yarn-dyed cotton version with ivory trim, and I’d like a sleep pair in a crazy print with tiny pom-pom trim.

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
The fit of the garment over the bottom.
WHAT SHE’S GOING TO MAKE NEXT
I would like to make them into a pair of trousers as the crotch shaping is really good on my figure.

Version 1 Shorts
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
The meticulous design that allows for a really nicely finished pair of shorts. It was a joy to put together a pattern that looks as good on the inside as the outside, and I haven’t taken them off since finishing them! Such a flattering silhouette as well.
WHAT SHE’S GOING TO MAKE NEXT
I’ll make another pair for sure, and, as not much of a skirt wearer, I am even thinking about the skort!

Version 1 Shorts
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
The flat front of the shorts – they are so flattering. Even though they are shorter than I would normally wear they are such a great cut that it actually suits me. I also love that they can be lengthened into trousers.
WHAT SHE’S GOING TO MAKE NEXT
I have two further shorts cut out already. I have plans for a skort and I also want to make a pair of shorts on a longer Bermuda length.

Version 1 Shorts
HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN
I like the details of the pattern, such as the pockets, that elevate this from a casual pair of shorts to something that can be a bit dressier
WHAT SHE’S GOING TO MAKE NEXT
I have already bought some denim fabric for the skort, version 2, to fill the big hole in my wardrobe of summer clothes in which I can feel comfortable, yet stylish.
