Axel pattern tester roundup!

Megan Nielsen Axel skirt pattern tester roundup

Hello my darlings! After the whirlwind of the Axel release, i’m so excited to be sharing some more Axel skirts with you! As per usual a few of our lovely pattern testers are letting us share what they created while testing the pattern. I seriously love seeing all the different ways that people style my patterns, and how everyone puts their own spin on a design. For me, the best thing about design patterns is seeing how they’re used in real life – and I literally get excited with every make i see from you all.

Anyway, a huge big thanks to every single one of our Axel testers – testing is such an important part of the process, and we couldn’t do it without our amazing testers!

So without further ado, check out some fab Axel’s below, and don’t forget to checkout their blogs and IG!

Version 2 // Knee length skirt without hip sashes

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN

This pattern is the perfect canvas for a unique fabric. I struggle to figure out what to do with a lot of my printed fabrics, especially thicker ones like scuba. This pattern works perfectly with a thicker, stable knit for a cute casual look!

Version 1 // Handkerchief hem

HER FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE PATTERN

I love how versatile this pattern is: You get three completely different looks and there are options to customize them even further. And it takes hardly any time at all to sew, it’s a really quick and satisfying pattern.

I made this version out of a navy blue knit with a small diamond pattern. I already have a more lightweight and breezy version planned for summer (maybe in white) and I want to try it out of a more structured, heavier knit as well – I’m interested to see how it will affect the overall shape.
