How to make a tie front two seam top // Megan Nielsen Design Diary // Only two lines of sewing!!

photography // Sabatomic

I have loved my two seam dresses and tops so much, but found myself wanting a top that fitted a little closer at the waistline. Enter tie front two seam top!

I just love how this turned out, and it’s so super easy! Click through for the tutorial

How to make a tie front two seam top

1// measure your fabric, making sure that the length of your top is long enough to include the ties

2// fold your fabric in half width ways with right sides together and sew the centre front seam

3// open  your tube of fabric so that the seam you just sewed is now in the centre front. Sew along the top

4// cut your armholes and neckline and your hemline so that you end up with two ties in the centre front

Then wear!

I really love this top and found that i wore it over and over during the summer. Perfect for pairing with high waisted anything (i’m looking at you Tania, Kelly and Brumby wink)
