Just a bit of what i’ve been working on – A few variations of a new sewing pattern i’ve been developing. It’s been so long since i posted sketches, i seem to have this really bad habit of just posting behind the scenes stuff to Instagram or keeping it to myself. It’s hard to remember to share whats going on behind the scenes, but i’m hoping to get a bit better at that!

November 2, 2012You are really artistic! I hope that I can one day draw even a little bit like you :D
Thanks honey! Honestly, it’s just years of practise – if you search through my blog i posted some old sketches years ago that are just awful hehehe. everyone starts somewhere ;)
I love your design sketches!
I’d like to try to work on creating some of my own, but have NO IDEA where to start! I don’t suppose you have any suggestions on websites/books etc. to help, do you?
Thanks honey! I hear you – it’s a bit daunting! I definitely suggest practice (lots of practice) and buying a good book – i can recommend 9 heads, its well loved throughout colleges for good reason. It seems pricey but well worth it. The real trick to drawing croquis’ well is learning to draw the anatomy under the clothing. Honestly, i started with pretty crummy sketching abilities, but worked on it over years – and i promise you can too! good luck honey!!! xoxo
