a year of refocus

I’m really excited for this year you guys!

Over the last year while i’ve been on maternity leave, i haven’t been actively developing patterns, but i’ve spent a lot of time thinking with Chris about my business. What it should look like, where we want it to go, what we’re passionate about. How we can run it well, and still focus on our family. How we can make it reflect ME and YOU better. We’ve taken a hard look at how customers use my patterns, and chatted to people about what they care about. We’ve reassessed the way we do everything. Every last part of everything.

And we’ve decided to make changes. Really cool exciting ones.

So i’m declaring this year as a year of refocus. Of making my brand even better, and making it reflect more of me. Of working smarter not harder. Of supporting humanitarian projects (because i’m a Christian first and a business woman second). Of making patterns that you really really love to use.

It’s going to be a big year. And i’m really excited to share this journey with you!

Very excited to see what you come up with! Refocusing can be so important. That’s why time off (even if it’s maternity leave) is so, so fueling.
All the luck!

I feel like I spent all last year re-focusing, and sometimes that feels like you’re taking steps backwards or just standing still, but really you’re not. You’re setting yourself up to get miles ahead because your vision is clear and your path narrowed down. I’m so excited to see what you have in store for the future. Best of luck, Megan! :)

I am looking forward to hearing all about your wonderful plans. I don’t know if this works for you, but I am more comfortable with paper patterns.

Sounds like exciting things are ahead for you and your business! I also love that you’re considering your beliefs in how you want to run things. I’m also excited that I’ll finally have a chance to try some of your patterns out! (I’ve had the Darling Ranges for awhile, but other things kept getting in the way. But I do have your Simplicity version of the maternity/nursing top and dress, and am very excited to try it out!)

P.S.as an aside I would absolutely love to apply for that job you posted but I
A) stay home with our kiddos
B) am not fully qualified
And
C) have a little etsy shop I sew for…so…yeah…I won’t even apply.
But I think working with you would be fabfabfab! Just sayin’!

My daughter donned her lovely Cascade skirt the other day – of course you popped into my head. Best of luck for your endeavours of 2015 Megan. Oh and Happy Australia Day for the 26th!

Oooh how exciting! I found that when I had a baby, I always seemed to step back and look a bit more objectively at my life. There’s something about a precious newborn baby that just seems to put everything in perspective – takes me back to the simplicity of mother and child – how basic it is, how very ordinary and yet what an amazing miracle! I’m super excited to see the humanitarian direction you take!! Your enthusiasm is positively beaming through !! So exciting!!

How exciting! I cannot wait to see what your future holds, but in sure the best is yet to come for you, your family and your business! And I would love to see the ways that you support humanitarian projects. Sometimes that’s kind of hard when you don’t just have a ton of money to give. Thanks for not being afraid to share your Christian side!
