Hey friends!!
Thank you so much for all of your kind words, encouragement and unbelievably thoughtful support in my last post. It’s been a really weird month for me, and I was so touched by all of your comments and emails, and am so grateful for all the understanding. I haven’t had a chance to respond to everyone yet, as I tried really hard to just unplug from the computer – but I promise I will. You guys are the best!
After my rest I’m really happy to report that my ulcer has cleared up (albeit slowly), and I’m feeling much healthier and dare I say, normal. It’s been hard training myself into normal sleep patterns, and remembering to eat properly – but I think I’ve been doing well! I read a lot of books, baked up a storm, relearnt to watch TV, did a lot of fun little embroidery projects that kept me on a couch for a while, and even tackled a few sewing projects for friends and my darling kiddos. It’s going to sound silly, but I can’t even believe how different I feel right now – I haven’t used caffeine as a crutch, because I no longer have that constant feeling of exhaustion nagging at me all day – and I generally feel much more alert and energetic. I guess sleep and nutrition really are important hehehe
I think stepping back has been really beneficial to me. It allowed me to see things a bit more clearly, and assess where my life is at right now.
And basically, I need to slow down.
SO what does that mean? I’m going to do my best to reduce my workload so that I don’t make myself sick again. As a start, I’ll only be selling my patterns wholesale to retail stores, and they won’t be available directly through my site to the general public anymore. I know that might be a real bummer for you, if you really enjoy purchasing directly through me, but unfortunately it’s just too much having both sides of the business going at full steam right now. The good news is, my patterns are stocked in over 45 stores all over the world! So if you’re wanting to find patterns, the stockists page on my website is the best place to start. They’re all wonderful stores with lovely people behind them, and I highly recommend every single one.
With respect to blogging, I will continue to blog – but just at a slower less consistent rate. Design Diary began as a place for me to document my designs and what I create, and it will always be that for me. I know I still want to share what I’m making and designing, and I can’t imagine a time where I won’t want to do that.
So that’s where I’m at right now ! I hope you’ll all understand – and thanks again for being the most wonderful customers and readers ever.
Big hugs darlings!
XOXO
[Update: a couple of people have emailed me asking about pattern packs, right now the only pattern packs i have available are on Amazon, and there are a handful left. I don’t think i’ll be doing more packs once they’re gone. Here are the links: Breakwater pack, Maternity survival pack, Nursing survival pack]
