undercover blues

Has anyone else seen that movie? It’s an oldie (and completely ridiculous) – but one of my favourites!

Anyway, in case you were wondering (you probably weren’t hehehe) there’s a little sundress hiding under that Briar crop top :)

I’ve been dying to get layer happy with my Briars, since the cropped version does layering so ridiculously well. I love that now my dress can pretend to be a skirt – kind of awesome really. I actually really love this silk dress, but i haven’t worn it much recently – i guess sometimes you fall out of love with something? But throwing my little crop top over it gave it a whole new life for me – i think this might be the first time i’ve worn this dress in a few years. Even if it’s a playing a subdued, undercover role – it still makes me smile that it isn’t hanging wasted in my wardrobe.

I think this idea works particularly well for those of you who like the look of the crop top with high waisted skirts, but aren’t ready to bare your stomach…

So did you have a good weekend?! Mine was spent at the beach, with family, and sewing up a storm… business as usual i guess!

Top: Megan Nielsen Briar pattern (Short sleeved cropped variation)

Wow, I thought I was the only one who had ever heard if that movie, much less liked it. My brother and I chose it every time we went to blockbuster. Not sure why we never just bought it! Very cute layering outfit! Love the contrast.

Oooh, very clever! I love this layering effect, especially over a dress! I can totally see myself in this!

Too too cute! I love how you put it too – the dress ‘pretends’ to be a skirt!
