grey basics

I really can’t wait for the first boxes of Briars to arrive in a week! I’ve been living in all the samples. Not exaggerating when i say this is my go to top style right now. Actually this one in particular is a favourite – it’s the standard tshirt as detailed in the pattern – complete with patch pocket. One of the reasons i love it over a standard T is the longer back hem – it’s nice to have the freedom to bend over without worrying, and it never comes untucked from skirts.

Also, i kind of wish you could feel this fabric, because it’s so ridiculously good. I finally made a trip to Potters Fabrics in Perth – and goodness me am i in love. They don’t have a massive selection, but everything is beautiful quality. I would have walked out with bolts if budget had allowed. But i did walk out with this amazing grey knit – so soft and drapey, There’s such a tiny amount left and i’m desperately brainstorming ways to use it… maybe there’ll be enough for something for Buddy or Bunny. It’s too good to waste. I know it’s been said that the perfect white tshirt is a wardrobe staple – the top that will go with everything. But for me, i gravitate more towards grey. I feel like it’s less stark, but as a neutral it still goes with everything. (you’d be shocked how much i wear this little grey tank)

So what about you? Are you in the “basic white tee” club, or do you opt for a different take on basics?

Wow, this is so cute! I love it on you! I’m a gray girl, too. I love the classic white look, but I’m a huge slob, so white’s not the best for me, and I find it a bit boring, too. I love that gray goes with navy or black, so I can wear it with basically everything else in my wardrobe. :)

Stunning. I really like this version. Me thinks I’m going to have to make a short sleeved briar real soon.

Love the shirt!
I totally get what you mean when you say that it’s a good shirt because you don’t have to worry about bending over! I hate sitting down and realizing half my back in peaking out!
