MN2102 Banksia / Sewalongs

the banksia top sewalong schedule!

I’m so excited by how many people are going to take part in our Banksia sewalong in September!! I’ve finally got the schedule sorted out, and it makes it feel even more real :)

Unfortunately, I got kind of carried away with the planning – and may be biting off a bit more than i can chew. But we’ll see!! There’s heaps i want to cover, so i hope i manage to get through it all. This is just such a versatile pattern with so many possibilities for customization it was hard to cut myself off.

I’ve decided not to say outloud how many versions i’ll be making – as i’m pretty sure that will induce a massive panic attack :) Instead, lets just say i’m making “some” Banksia’s heehehe.

Okay enough of my jabber – here is the plan!! (subject to change)

  • Sept 24th to 28th – Pattern Alterations
  • Oct 1st – Darts
  • Oct 2nd – Shoulder seams & placket preparation
  • Oct 3rd – Collar
  • Oct 4th – Collarless version
  • Oct 5th, 8th to 10th – Placket (we’ll be covering 3 versions, and a placketless version)
  • Oct 11th, 12th and 15th – Sleeves and sleeveless version
  • Oct 16th – Hemming
  • Oct 17th – Banksia dress
  • Oct 18th – Jersey version
Don’t forget – for those who haven’t got the pattern yet – you can get 10% off for the length of the sewalong by using the code BANKSIA at checkout
And of course there are buttons! If you’d like to put a sewalong button on your blog during the course of the sewalong, just cut and paste the code from below or from the blog sidebar!

Delighted to join your sewalong. Might be a bit behind, as I’m not a terribly courageous sewer, but definitely interested in the dress option! This will be a good stash buster for me. :)

I am so excited that you are doing this sewalong- I am joining! It is great to have incentive to use my recently purchased patterns from you (I find it hard to make time for sewing!) BTW I absolutely love the cut of the kelly skirt ( i didn’t have any buttons so did a back zip … so can’t wait to try it again ‘properly’) Then I just have to d a Darling Ranges dress!
