The Banksia Top Sewalong Schedule!
I’m so excited by how many people are going to take part in our Banksia sewalong in September!! I’ve finally got the schedule sorted out, and it makes it feel even more real :)
Unfortunately, I got kind of carried away with the planning – and may be biting off a bit more than I can chew. But we’ll see!! There are heaps of things I want to cover, so I hope I manage to get through it all. This is just such a versatile pattern with so many possibilities for customization it was hard to cut me off.
I’ve decided not to say out loud how many versions I’ll be making – as I’m pretty sure that will induce a massive panic attack :) Instead, let’s just say I’m making “some” Banksia’s here hehe.

What is the banksia dress?

Hi Mady!! So excited to have you doing your first sewalong with us!!! Never fear – there is no official sign up, or commitment – it’s all very casual. Some people will be sewing at the same time as me – and some will just refer back to the posts later when it’s more convenient for them!
Anyway, yes we will be including different collar versions! there will be a point collar and faux shawl collar – i’ll also be sharing instructions for leaving the collar off completely.

Delighted to join your sewalong. Might be a bit behind, as I’m not a terribly courageous sewer, but definitely interested in the dress option! This will be a good stash buster for me. :)
I am so excited that you are doing this sewalong- I am joining! It is great to have incentive to use my recently purchased patterns from you (I find it hard to make time for sewing!) BTW I absolutely love the cut of the kelly skirt ( i didn’t have any buttons so did a back zip … so can’t wait to try it again ‘properly’) Then I just have to d a Darling Ranges dress!
