The second day of the Texas Style Council conference involved a mentoring breakfast and a boutique crawl. It was a fun but also incredibly tiring day. Since there were no breaks scheduled for meals (this would be my one and only complaint about the conference) I must admit that I only had a granola bar for breakfast and a coffee and that was it till super late that night. I was really feeling rather ill by the end of the day.
For the mentoring breakfast they basically had a bunch of different bloggers split up across the room stationed at different tables to talk about various topics. Things ranging from blogging 101, to web design, monetization, finding your niche, blogger burn out – pretty much everything! I walked around and tried to snap a few shots of my friends in action, and I think they all did a really excellent job! I spoke to so many people who said they found the chats really valuable. I think it was such a nice informal way for people to get the advice they needed.
Honestly for me though, I think the highlight of the day was how many people came up to me to tell me they’d made and patterns and love them. I was really blown away. I have to admit I didn’t expect that and was so so thrilled, and I love love loved chatting to everyone who said hi – i just wish I could remember names, but I was too bewildered to think of it. Anyway, if you were one of those lovely ladies, thank you so much!! You have no idea how much that meant to me!!

After that we took a quick 15 minutes and ran across the road to take outfit photos, and then it was off to the boutique crawl. This involved a workshop at a thrifstore (a lot of hunting through racks with Yen and Kendi, I LOVE those girls!), and then ended at a boutique near the headquarters of the conference. After that I headed over to the South Congress area and met up with my roomies for some shopping in the cute vintage stores there. It was a fun afternoon, but I have to admit, I really wished I’d been able to see more boutiques – and being constantly in and out of rain was super frustrating!
Andddddd now onto clothing. Do you like my leggings?? They’re one of my newest creations and i’ve been living in them. LOVE them. I’ve been calling these my 3am leggings, because well, I made them at 3am one night when i couldn’t sleep. Some people watch tv or read or have a snack when they can’t get any rest… i sew. I am weird. But who can complain about lacking sleep when the result is rad metallic leggings hehehe. I used the same pattern as these ones and perfected the pattern a bit more- I am apparently on quite a legging kick at the moment. Meanwhile, those boots saved my life. They are the comfiest ever, and I’m now considering buying them in another colour too (is that weird?)
Oh and just for fun… this is how i really looked all day…
