Texas Style Council: Conference day

And now onto the last day of the Texas Style Council weekend – the actual conference /symposium day! Thank you so so much to Indiana for organizing the whole amazing conference weekend. Everything went so smoothly, everyone was so geniune, and I feel all the topics were incredibly relevant!

I think the conference day was just wonderful. There were a number of panels and breakout sessions covering heaps of useful topics. Kendi was the keynote speaker, and I think she really hit the nail on the head – talking about how your blog is probably not your purpose, but your blog can drive your purpose. She brought it back to how her blog gave her the confidence and financial support she need to open her gorgeous store Bloom. I can really relate to that. As someone who started my blog simply as a way to document and share my designs, not knowing if anyone would care at all – it has been the springboard that moved me into launching my clothing line, and then my pattern line – a business that is now almost a full time job (gulp!).

Other lessons I learnt that day? If you’re not sure where you are and you’re trying to find a fashion blogger conference – look for cute girls taking photos of each other hehehehe

So I guess that’s the end of my Texas Style Council recaps! Thanks for bearing with me :) I have to say, I had a truly wonderful time. It was such a great experience, and one i will cherish forever. I feel so so lucky to have been able to meet so many of my good friends in real life. Now i just wish we all lived a bit closer…

Loving the pockets on the chantilly skirt. Sounds like a fascinating and inspiring event to be at too.
