Sewing Kits

I added a new product to my store in November, and just realised I forgot to blog about it! tisk tisk!

They are sewing kits for creating a Darling Ranges dress. The kit includes all the fabric and notions needed – fabric, bias tape, buttons, elastic – and you can even throw in the pattern at a discount (if you don’t already have it) if you want to get it all together. It took me a while to decide how to package it all up – but i finally decided on a reusable fabric bag with the Megan Nielsen logo on it. I really love them!

For my first kit I chose to use the same fabric as for the Ragged Ranges dress from my Spring ’11 collection – that way you can create the long sleeved Darling Ranges dress or leave off the sleeves and have the exact same dress from last spring! I’m really happy to see how popular these kits have been already – especially before Christmas, I guess quite a few people got a fun sewing present this year!

Here’s an example of a finished dress using the kit

I think it  might be time to add some kits for my other patterns, and maybe some more fabric options for the Darling Ranges too – what do you think?

This is such a sweet idea! I love that you are packaging them with the same fabric from the original collection and in a reusable bag too! Truly Darling!

I totally adore this idea! When I finally get my sewing machine shipped over from Aus, this will be first on my list!! x

Oh my goodness, I hadn’t even thought of that! I just had a minor panic but did some research and I think from Aus to the UK is OK…I hope so! I miss my little machine. It’s been 4 years…way too long! I think I’ve forgotten how to sew!!

Oh, what an awesome idea!! I’m still looking for the perfect fabric for my Darling Ranges – the holidays got in the way of it. Hopefully I’ll get to start it this month (and I’ll be sure to share when I do!).
