Hello Gorgeous, My New Dressform

meet my new dress form!!

I haven’t given her a name yet… but i’m leaning towards Polly, hehe

My sponsors over at PGM dress forms were kind enough to send me one of their 601 industry standard dress forms to try out – and I’m kind of in love with it. Though I already have 3 dress forms, none of them are this kind of quality. This dress form is nothing short of amazing. I’ve only had it a few weeks and it’s already made my draping a million times easier, I’m not sure how I lived without it before.

If you’re thinking of getting one too, PGM are having an end of summer promo, with free shipping (you would not believe how heavy these things are! hehe). If you’d like to take advantage of that, here’s the code:

ps. I’m thinking of doing a little post later on talking about my other dress forms, and tips for buying a dress form – with some thoughts about more low end options, since I know this is a purchase a lot of people find daunting.

Dress form shopping post: yes please! I’d love to get a dress form but because they are so pricey I’m afraid I’ll buy the wrong one. It’s pretty hard to pin up a hem on something you are wearing (and training the hubby to do this is probably harder!)

How neat you got to try o! I’m had been actually planning on asking my in-laws for PGM form this Christmas (lest you think I’m terribly greedy, it’s not only for Christmas but also because I’m making my sister-in-law’s junior prom dress ;)! I already have a Dritz adjustable form I bought as a teenager, but I’m pretty over that at this point in my sewing “career”. ;) So it’s great to know you like the quality!

Hello,

I just bought this same pgm dress form and I have a quick question for you. How do you keep yours from spinning around and around? Or does yours stay stationary?

I’m getting quite frustrated it won’t stay still when I’m pinning.

Thanks!
