Maybe i’m silly, but I kind of like special events to have special outfits. So when Bunny turned 3 I wanted her to have a special dress to wear on her birthday. So I made one!
A few months ago (maybe a year?) my mother in law, knowing how much i love remaking clothing, sent me a box of gorgeous blouses to use in my projects. One of them was this adorable multi-coloured striped one – and i knew it would be for Bunny.
I used another dress of hers as a template, and it was remarkably simple to do!! I just cut the shirt in half, made the top half toddler size, and gathered the bottom as the skirt. It’s kind of hard to see, but the collar and hem are tiny scallops (they almost killed me to do hehe). I am so incredibly happy with how it’s turned out!!! It’s definitely one of my favourite dresses of hers!
It kind of cracks me up how it co-ordinates so nicely with her birthday present.
These photos were all taken on her birthday… Though we waited till my parents visited to have her cake and everything, on her actual birthday we gave her her bike, and spent a great deal of time at the park practicing riding, drawing snakes with sidewalk chalk and just playing. And it was just one of those days that was totally perfect…
… and now if they would just stop growing up so quickly :)
