Hand Me Down Handmade

I’m a huge fan of hand me downs. I love the sentimentality, and I love getting more use out of things. So of course I was thrilled when I realised that these shorts I made for Bunny, actually suited Buddy better!  It actually came about in a funny way. When we were on vacation we pretty much ran out of clothing (turns out kids go through even more clothing on holiday!), and so i put Buddy in these shorts as a last resort, and was blown away by how cute they looked! Oh happy accident! I think it’s so sweet that Bunny wore them all summer, and now Buddy can wear them for the end of summer (and hopefully again when he’s out of diapers?)

Speaking of hand me downs – when my parents visited they brought some of my clothing from when I was Bunny’s age, for her to wear! That makes my little sentimental heart so excited hehe. This little top was one of them, and I adore it. It unfortunately won’t fit her for too much longer, but till then, I think it’ll be in pretty constant rotation :)

I think perhaps you have some of the best dressed kids, Megan! ;) I’m a huge fan of hand me downs, although I was the oldest in my family, so I rarely got them. Although at one point when I was a preteen, a church friend gave me a box of her clothes–including a bunch of vintage pieces she wore back in the 70s! I still remember how excited I was by these hand me downs. ;) (My sister, who got most of my cast offs, has a completely different opinion on the topic though! hehe. But then again, our styles didn’t exactly mesh at that time. rofl.)
