Hemmed Vintage Skirt

Anyone recognise this skirt? A while ago I asked you all if I was starting to wear my skirts too long, and looked like a frumpa-dump (technical term hehe). Though the results were mixed, and i got a little confused, most people agreed it needed hemming, so i went for it- and I’m sooooooo glad i listened! Doesn’t it look way better now?? Well, I certainly love it so much more now!! Thanks for pushing me in the right direction my dears!

Hilariously my hubby told me he loved my new skirt, completely forgetting that a few months ago he thought the same skirt was a grandma skirt. Oh what a difference a hem makes!

Top: Thrifted and altered
Skirt: Thrifted and hemmed (here it is before!)
Shoes: Banana Republic
Belt: Banana Republic
Bangles: gifts from family members
Necklace: Agate beads, family heirloom from my mom

Holy cow, mama. It looks AMAZING! It’s the perfect knee-length: retro and full and flattering and YOWZA. Love it, especially with the gingham.

your hair looks gorgeous here! (I know that’s not the focus of the post, but a great hair day needs to be acknowledged!)

Well, I like it either way! I tend to favor grandma styles over anything else. ;)

I love the pattern mix!

I love a ‘midi’ length skirt but this one was just SO full. A little bit to much skirt. I think the new length suits you much better. And still maintains the ladylike demeanor you were looking for ;)

You know, I think I was one of those people who said to leave the skirt as-is, but I ADORE the new length. It is PERFECT. :)

Your hair is looking wonderful like that by the way! It always looks great in every photo, but it looks particularly nice like that.

Love the shorter hem! Really breathes new life into the skirt (which I didn’t think was too bad longer either). :)

Um…can I change my vote now? I was in the “leave it alone!” camp but now I’m jumping ship, I love the new length!

Megan the skirt length looks SO fantastic, and this whole outfit just has me totally smitten. I’m absolutely loving how you’ve styled up this skirt. And I think I just might have to get a few of my skirts hemmed after seeing the result of this one! xo veronika

Oh that’s such an improvement! Girl, you have GREAT legs and you shouldn’t hide them with longer skirts! Most women aren’t so lucky to have great legs, so don’t waste them under a granny skirt! ;) BTW your hair is gorgeous there!
