Hypocrisy AKA Now I Own A Minivan

oh hi, in case you were wondering what a hypocrite looks like – here i am :)

If you follow me on twitter, you’ve probably seen me bad mouth minivans more than once. maybe a lot more than once hehe. But as with any judgemental comment I’ve ever made – it’s come back to bite me in the arse.

Well a few weekends ago my hubby (against my wishes and with much whining from me) brought one home from a car dealership for me to look at. And something awful happened. As soon as I saw how convenient it was for kids I knew we were going to get it. And then I kind of wanted it. Then for the next week I kept thinking about it as I was desperately trying to get both kids in and out of our SUV all the time. Oh… and then we bought it. And now I actually kind of like it love it to death.

So there you are, I am now a minivan driver. le sigh. let the mocking begin!

I’m just going to add this to the long list of things I have mouthed off about, and then gone and done myself. Which is pretty terrifying considering how many stupid things I said as a teenager!!! Lord have mercy…

Jeal of your van and your outfit! Specifically the belt, shoes and skirt

I believe we need pictures of you next to the van for proof…!

The skirt is gorgeous, as always, and the belt makes your waist look tiny tiny tiny. So cute!

I too swore off minivans…but with three kids, it’s kind of hard to get them around in my little Saturn! Som I still drive my Saturn, but the family vehicle alas is a minivan…it’s fabulous! But shhhhhhh don’t tell my hubby!

That necklace is gorgeous!!!!!!!

Don’t worry! I won’t judge you for driving a minivan! I actually think I’d like to have one now… with TVs in it. That way all my friends and I could ride together when we go out and only one person would have to drive! :)

Haha, you are too funny! My mom always drove a mini van and I’ve always sworn I would never. So far I’m holding strong but it’s just me and V now, maybe later?? eek! You look lovely as always!

hahahaha, too funny!! You can be like the cool mom from those Toyota minivan commercials and totally pimp it out/be the most stylish mom ever to rock a minivan :).

LOVE the lace top paired with your skirt. And the accessories just set this whole outfit OFF!

I too have sworn I would never, ever, in a million years even consider driving a minivan or a station wagon (unless it’s either a Subaru or a Volvo). Hubby got a job with a company car & he had a minivan. Ha! Ha! Ha! At this point, I have not gotten one, have never considered it, and it’s (at this point anyway), not ever, ever gonna happen.
Sometimes we speak of things we have not experienced with much distaste then find out they’re alright. I’m not ready to decide it’s alright for me. As long as you enjoy it, that’s all that matters. Who cares what others’ (like me)opinions are?

At least you can admit you are a hypocrite, right? That always makes me feel a bit less embarrassed, haha. And you are one stylish mini-van driver- breaking the sterotype! Woo!

Oh, my heart aches to see you wear that skirt. I am so sad you are sold out of it. I should have jumped on it when you put more in stock.

I had to laugh when I read this post: I’m definitely in the “I’ll never drive a minivan!” camp right now, but I suspect once I have kids I might change my mind. ;) Although I’d almost prefer a large Jeep SUV or pickup with a cab, since we tend to live in areas that flood when it rains (hello living near the ocean/Navy base!) and I want something OFF the ground. I’m tired of nearly flooding my engine all the time! (Last time that happened all the Ford F-150s were blithely speeding by me in 10″ deep water–that was the last straw!) Although the idea of navigating kids around such a high vehicle might be treacherous… Might be a minivan (gasp!) in my future. ;)

Don’t feel bad, I used to say the same. I now completely miss the mini van we had.
