Hem Crimes

oh hi. So I’m really starting to teeter on the edge of my skirts being too long. I may (just may) end up locked up in fashion prison for hemming crimes. Only time will tell.

Admittedly, this is kind of a crazy/ridiculous skirt. But I am strangely drawn to it. I fell in love with the silly sailboat print, and giantness of the skirt – and fully intended to hem it to say, knee length. But somehow, (i’m not sure how this happened) I started liking this awkward length. I can’t seem to bring myself to hem it. Kinda like how I can’t bring myself to hem this skirt.

I’ve already worn it at least once a week since I got it, and have a feeling that pattern will continue through summer. So really, if you think about it, my only crime is love. right?

Ok, maybe not. Lets vote on it

Should Meg be locked up for hem crimes?

Hell freakin yes!! Hem those skirts ASAP!! 55%

Definitley not – i love them that length! 45%

I love the longer skirts. I find long skirts to be so ladylike and graceful. Just my opinion, but I think they look good on most women.

I’d keep the length (or most of it, anyway) but wear it higher on the waist. Love the print!

I love that length for summer! If you find it’s hard to wear longer skirts in fall (which I do, because I always feel weirdly covered up wearing a long skirt AND tights AND closed-toe shoes), hem them later, but I think you look great! I love the color of your top, too.

For this skirt I like the length because the print is so large and bold. Hemming it would lose most if it’s impact. I agree with Peta, maybe wear it higher on the waist for the best of both worlds!

Not at all! You totally have flexibility with this length. The worst is when someone hems a beautiful skirt mere inches (or less) below butt cheek. Not pretty on the eyes no matter what body type that person is!

I do actually love the length, but I prefer the length slightly shorter on you :) I say hem that baby!

I really like it the way it is. And definitely oh, so comfortable for summer!

If this is a crime, lock me up as accessory after the fact! I absolutely love this skirt as-is, and while I’m sure it would still be adorable hemmed to a shorter length, I’d hate to sacrifice even one inch of that awesome oversized print! So if you love it now, why mess with perfection? :)

I love the longer lengths! They are so light and surprisingly cool. My mom says I am dressing like an old lady when I wear them. I agree that the print on this particular skirt is really fun.

I think your skirt looks great at that length. It’s got wonderful volume. :)
