Okay, I know you’ve been waiting patiently, and I still haven’t given a firm date for my collection release, but I can tell you all it will be in May and it will be soon. yayyyy
I’m sorry it’s taken so long, but since this is my first season working with a manufacturer it’s a much longer testing process. I’m learning a lot! In the past I could release the second I had my patterns and samples done, but this time I need to make everything a lot clearer since multiple people will be working on the garments, and I’m being extra careful that the patterns are perfect. Right now a lot of samples are being made and I’m just making sure that everything is being made exactly the way I want it etc. Maybe I’m a perfectionist, but I want everything to be just right before releasing!
Also, I’m doing a few things differently this time. Firstly, I’m adding free shipping for US orders – I’m always so thrilled when I get free shipping that it suddenly struck me as odd that I don’t offer it myself! hehe. Do you guys like that idea? I’m also going to do a combination of having items in stock, and made to order – to try and keep up with demand. Lastly, I’m thinking of making my release at a different time. For both Fall 2010 releases I released mid morning on a weekday and a lot of people were upset. I felt terrible about it, because I hadn’t considered that those who work full time can’t online shop during the day hehe silly me. So i’m thinking a weekend would be better this time? Maybe nighttime? I just don’t know what would be the best for the majority. thoughts?
Since I won’t have the limitations of my own free time on how much I can produce, I’m really hoping it means things won’t get sold out as quickly this time!
Also I’ll be making my website updates (or rather Chris will hahahaha) to make things easier etc, so if there is anything about the functionality or layout of my store/website that you think could be done better, or if you’ve seen something cool in another store you think I should do – please let me know! Obviously I can’t make everyone happy, but if there’s something that is driving people crazy i’d like to try and fix it!

ps. these are all photos of Chris’ Grandmothers sewing box. When we were back in Perth over Christmas, we went to visit his Grandparents old house – and I had so much fun taking photos of the pretty things we found! I just wish I’d taken photos of the outside of the box itself – because it’s quite an unusual looking one!
