The Power Suit

I didn’t wear this outfit anywhere. I know, I know. I should pretend I did, because that would be more glamorous. But the truth is, this skirt is one of my favourite creations ever, and I don’t think I’ve ever shared it on this blog. Reason? I no longer have anywhere to wear it. Sad. It’s part of a suit I made way back in 2007 – a suit which is my version of a power suit. I wore it to all my most important work things. It made me feel awesome. I love the ridiculously high waist, I love the over-exaggerated hip, and I love the flippy hem.

When we were in Perth I managed to head over to my old office, and catch up with some of my old friends. Unfortunately everyone wasn’t officially back at work yet, so I missed out on seeing a lot of people i wanted to see, but I guess that’s life hey? Anyway, it got me thinking about corporate dressing all over again. I totally miss dressing for an office!! So I played dress ups, just for you gals, because that’s how much I like you – and my skirt. And you know what? It still makes me feel awesome… here at home… watching tv. hehe I kid. So for now, lets pretend I’m off to an important lunch, which I will dominate, because I’m wearing my awesome skirt – and who can say no to a skirt this awesome? No-one, that’s who.

Awesome skirt, indeed! That’s a gorgeous silhouette–I love how the high waist is really defined, not just like a skirt with a bit of extra fabric. Lovely!

It’s gorgeous! You look so fantastic in it! I can see why you love it so much but you NEED to get it out of the house. I think it would be lovely for church, date with hubby or even a lunch out with the girls. Don’t keep this lovely thing in your closet! (and glad you had a great time in Perth).

That skirt is PERFECTION. I absolutely love it! I’m glad you kept it and still pull it out to play dress up. You could wear it on a night out, too!

“I love the ridiculously high waist, I love the over-exaggerated hip, and I love the flippy hem.” I totally agree with you Megan. Those are the three best things in a skirt. This skirt is perfect! I know what you mean about the feeling you get when you wear a skirt like this. Most of my skirts are ultra high waisted, and when I wear them I feel like Wonder Woman! You look great! <3
