Kanga-la-roo

I had a huge list of things I wanted to do at home. I’ve just been dreaming of bringing my kids there for so long, that I think 3 weeks was almost too short to do it all. So obviously I prioritized – and did the most important one first. We went to Caversham wildlife park which is in Whiteman Park in the Swan Valley, and honestly if you ever go to Perth (or live there) you really should go. It’s basically a very well run small zoo full of Australian animals. Almost everyone who works there is a volunteer, and it was packed with workers. You could tell they were all just really passionate about looking after the animals. And they have the most amazing Kangaroo enclosure where you can go in and feed the Roos. I really wanted to do this. Soooo bad. Not for me, but because Bunny is animal obsessed. (and also because i’m not stupid enough to try and touch a wild Kangaroo, because yes, they will beat the crap out of you)

It was honestly amazing. My mom had to work that day, so it was just my Dad, Chris and I and the kids. But we still had a blast. Bunny hugged so many Kangaroos that I ran out of wet wipes to clean her with (yes I’m that mom). She was so happy. Just running around yelling Kanga-la-roo!! Kanga-la-roo!! It made the effort of trecking two small kids through a zoo totally worth it.

Oh my! I really want to pet a kangaroo too! Btw, Buddy’s feet are SOOO cute. I am obsessed about baby feet and hands and fingers. They’re just so small and cute. Ah! =] Sorry if you think I’m a little weird.

i can’t even begin to express the wave of jealousy that came over me when i saw these pictures. i’m not a jealous person; i could give a crap about what clothes or shoes or whatever someone may have, but show me a picture of you hugging a koala or kangaroo or other exotic animal that i can’t touch and i’m instantly a green eyed monster.

Meg! So glad you all had such a great time there. When I was in Australia we went to a zoo in Cairns and one in Sydney. The most fun part was of course the Koalas and Kangaroos. And I was 21. So I’m sure Bunny had an even better time!! She looks like she was really “in her element”. Aw, what a little animal lover.
