Two years ago, when Bunny was only a few months old, I admittedly was feeling a little isolated, and a little lonely, and desperately missed being creative. As you may know if you’ve been reading a while – I’d been designing and making clothing for years before starting my label – and one of my favourite things was showing my newest outfit to my family and friends. Unfortunately when I left Perth, I lost that. I was finding it hard to make friends in Iowa, and it seemed like no-one really cared about sewing, unless it was a quilt or a halloween costume. It was breaking my heart that I’d made all these things I was so proud of, that I’d put so much time into, so much creativity into, and no-one would ever see them.
I’d been reading a lot of blogs, and was so blown away by the opportunity it gives people to self publish. What a great way to record what I’ve created, even if no-one reads it. So I started this blog, as a place to share my designs with friends, family and well, whoever else cared to read.
And I’m just so humbled and touched that you guys care about what I’m doing. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’ve loved blogging. I’ve loved sharing my designs and the way I wear them. And I’ve loved being a part of the blogging community, and all of the amazing friends I’ve made.
And I love that it helped me to finally follow the dream I’d had for so long, of starting my own clothing line.
I’m feeling mushy, so are you ready for the thank yous?
Thank you to my wonderful husband, Chris, for convincing me to start blogging in the first place, and for always believing in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself.
Thank you to the fabulously creative community over at Burdastyle & Pattern Review for being my very first readers.
Thank to my family for being my biggest cheerleaders.
and of course…
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, to all of you my lovely readers, my dear dear friends. Who listen to my crazy talk every day. Thank you for reading, and for your constant support and encouragement!! Because of you, I’m still here, writing about what I make. Because of you, I have my clothing line. Because of you I’ve felt part of a community, when I didn’t think I had one. Where would I be without you? Nowhere fun, that’s for sure. Hugs to all you!!
