I haven’t really had the time recently to sew much, what with Christmas and having family stay with us. So I thought instead I might post up some of my favourite old projects.
This is one of my favourite tops, I made it a few years ago and I’ve worn it to death… might be time to make it a twin to take it’s place should anything tragic happen to it!
It’s round neck and fitted till under the bust. The bodice part is pleated, and really roomy, but because of the fabric is lightweight & sheer, it doesn’t look or feel bulky.
I was actually able to wear this top for the first part of my pregnancy.
I don’t know what I was thinking but for some reason I finished the armsycs with blanket stitch…crazy i know…I really wish I had rather used fell stitch. I also wish I had used fell stitches in the hemline, I’m not really happy with the topstitching. But hey, you live and learn!
I really love the way the pleats under the bust turned out, I topstitched to keep them in place, and they sit so nicely! Overall, I still totally love this top!!
