Since today is pattern mix day on EBEW, it seemed like a good idea to, you know, mix up some patterns. Check peeps, that’s 3 different patterns. Oh wait, is it cheating that my skirt has 2 different patterns in it? Yes? No? hehe
So, I realised something the other day about one of the fabrics of this skirt. I bought both prints at a store called Spotlight (it’s a fabric warehouse store) in Perth back in oh, 2006 i think? It also came in a purple. So that’s about 5 years ago. Then the other day I realised that the fabric is almost exactly the same as the fabric in this Dear Creatures dress. Which really blew my mind! I think it’s kind of cool that this print has obviously stuck around so long, and that somehow I accidentally have some!
I guess pretty prints just never go out of style!

Silk top: Vintage, thrifted
Skirt: Megan Nielsen
Shoes: Fashion Bug
Hat: Banana Republic

Nothing about this I don’t love, from the colors to the patterns to the hat!
I loveeeee your pattern mixing and that hat is amazing!!! You’re so cute.
THanks hun!! I was so nervous about wearing a hat, because I never do – but i really like how it worked!! will have to bring it out more often!
Love this top, it looks so fantastic on you, great pairing it with your own skirt.
Your whole outfit is adorable, but I especially love your skirt…probably because you made it! I’m a big fan of your line! :)
Thanks so much Libby! It always makes my day to hear someone likes my designs! xoxo
What a great look! I love that you made the skirt. Glad I found you and can see all your other great pieces!
Wow, amazing mixed prints! Way more adventurous than most while still looking amazing!!! Love the skirt…and anything paired with polka dots is good in my book!
Wonderful colors! I really like the way you mixed patterns for the challenge. I’m glad I found your blog on EBEW. That hat is adorable!
Thanks so much Jean! Dont’ you just love EBEW? so fun!!
love it and want to wear it :)
It’s an Ash hat!
hehehe i know!! I pretty convinced we all just want to be like Ash when we grow up hehe
Just stumbled on your blog…how, I don’t really know. Love the outfit, and we could be skin twins, down to the spots:). I like you already!
hehehe thanks hun! i have a feeling i’m about as freckly as they come! xoxo
Pretty fabrics do hang around! I kept dresses I can no longer fit into or vintage ones could never even fit into in the first place because of the fabrics. It’s ridiculous but I love them.
oh wow, i feel so great after reading your comment! I tooootally do that too, and my hubby gets so tired of all the clothing i hoard but can’t wear – but i can’t bear to part with a good print!
I love that you used a monochrome color pallet, even the band on the fedora matches!
I love these colors so much! The patterns are perfect together. Now you have me wanting to go dig my fedora out of the closet!
How did I miss this post last week? Uh-Maz-ing. Really and truly. I adore these colors and patterns together!!
PS – Love the pics of the kids at Carousel :) Adorbable :)
