personal assistant

February 23rd, 2011

Lately my work space has been slowly taken over by toys. We have a nice big sunroom, so we use half as a play room for the kids, and half as my studio space. It’s kind of similar to what we had at our old house, and it works really really well – because they can play while I work, and I can always keep an eye on them. But lately, something disturbing has been happening… wagons, puzzles, blocks, legos and tiny animal figurines have been very slowly encroaching on my space… hehe. Not that I care, its just so funny!! My “serious” work space is littered with toys! haha, parenting is a constant reminder to me that you just can’t take yourself too seriously!

Oh and this is my personal assistant, he’s keeping track of my schedule on his magnet board. Which might explain why I’m so chronicly (is that even a word?) bad at keeping up with my emails….

(oh and ps, i’m totally late on this – but I finally belted a scarf like every other blogger in the world. I know, I’m so original and ground breaking :) hehe. I haven’t done a little diagram for my Scarf Project yet, but I’m hoping to have one up by the end of the day )

Top: Banana Republic
Skirt: Megan Nielsen
Boots: Steve Madden
Tights: Hue
Belt: Thrifted
Scarf: Vintage, family heirloom from my MIL
Headband: gift from my SIL

Hi :) I’ve been eyeing the Steve Madden boots EVERYone seems to have, they are so, so cute… but I am worried about them being too big in the calves! Your legs are really thin too, but they look great on you! Did you have them altered, or are they adjustable? Or, did they fit so well out of the box? :D A million questions, I know. They look so fabulous on ya. Thanks! I love your blog!

Thanks Bethany!! I LOVE them! They really are awesome boots – I highly recommend them! I honestly haven’t found them to be too big in the calves at all – I think they fit really nicely – but they also have that little buckle on the side which you can use to adjust if they are too big or too small – but I haven’t had to. The only thing I didn’t like was that the foot part was a little hard when I first got them, but they’ve loosened up now, and they’re my most comfy boots. If you’re worried, I got mine through endless.com (i put a link above), and they have free shipping and free returns (this is gonna sound lame, but I like to order stuff, try it on at home with all my clothing, and then send back if i don’t like it!)
      I hope that helps! XOXO

Hi! I am new to your blog, but I’m loving it! :)

You are super pretty and I am loving that lace-y skirt! But, of course, your most fabulous accessory is that sweet little one at your feet. So cute!!!

There is a little history to that scarf, which by the way is silk chiffon…it was bought in the 1960′s by my mother when she was staying in the Taj Mahal hotel in Bombay! The hotel was then just as the British had left it and most of the furniture was from before the second world war…very art deco…
Of course now it is very modern and luxurious, and you might remember it was where the terrorists attacked a couple of years ago. It does look lovely on you and I dont think my Mother could ever have imagined when she bought it that it would one day be gracing a grand-daughter in law, and be in the same photo as such a beautiful great grandson.

Everything about this post makes me happy! Your outfit, your little man, the story about toys in your office. We’re in the middle of buying a new house, and I need to figure out what to do with a play/office space–mainly, whether I want them to be separate. Your post is a tick in the “together” column!

  14. The lace skirt really makes the green top look even more fresh. Perfect: the way you belted the scarf. Just went to shop the Perth collection but it was sold out (sad face). Tell me ..do you miss the Freo Doctor?

P.S. Your little assistant is a sweetie!

      • Awwww Meg (that’s my name too)

I am really American but feel more at home in Queensland. I miss it everyday. I eat weetabix, import vegemite and tim tams, fly the Australian flag, have the Oz national anthem on my ipod and wear my collection of Australian made tee shirts.

I would love to feature you on my blog for the feature “Muse” … I can make a questionnaire for you
