I should really start this post with a big “Sorry sorry sorry!!” to everyone who asked me to post close ups of this refashion… since quite obviously I forgot. Can I blame it on the pregnancy?? For some reason I’m really flaky at the moment… I keep forgetting to do stuff I’ve promised to do, and things people have told me… I guess that probably makes me a terrible blogger!
Anyway, remember when I refashioned a humungous tshirt into this tunic? Well I just wasn’t wearing it much because the unbelievable whiteness of it was making me feel like, well a whale. So I decided to dye it. I knew that was kind of risky, since the dye wasn’t going to take on the thread of the top, but I thought nothing ventured nothing gained, right? Of course the dye didn’t take to the thread, and as a result all my handstitched details just ended up looking really messy and slapdashed. So I just unpicked them all and re-sewed them on the sewing machine. I used white thread though, since all the other topstitching on the top is still white I wanted to keep it consistent.
Anyway, I”m much much happier with it this way! It’s a great maternity basic, and it got the approval of my Hubby, so it’s a win win!
What do you guys think? Better in plum than white right?
